No More Pass!

Wednesday, June 25, 2008 Since Monday, June 23, 2008 Taylen has survived without his pacifier during his awake hours. He goes to sleep for a nap and sleeps longer now that he don't have pass. He goes to sleep at night without pass (gets it during the night at some point). He has already been talking more and sleeping better. We are very proud of him! Permalink

15 Month Check Up

Tuesday, June 10, 2008 Taylen had his 15 month check up on Thursday, June 5 with Dr. Azam. His weight was 29.8 pounds and his height was 33 inches. He is in the 97 percentile for his height and 50 percentile for his weight. His next check up is August 28 when he will be 18 months old. Permalink

Birthday (party) Boy!

Monday, February 25, 2008 We celebrated Taylen's first birthday on Saturday, February 22. It was a "Go Diego Go" party. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, cake and ice cream. Taylen got lots of toys. His favorite thing was to play in the mud in the backyard. Most of our family and friends came to celebrate with us. Thanks to all who came and thanks to all who helped out! Taylen had a good time. Taylen's "real" birthday is Wednesday, February 27. We haven't added any new journal posts since December and that is because we've just been too busy. Taylen is walking now and so he doesn't give us a break. Our business is busier than ever and there is no time left at the end of the day. Taylen has became much more independent. He now points to something when he wants it, which is very helpful to us. Permalink

Update!

Tuesday, December 11, 2007 It has been awhile since we've posted an update, so here goes! Taylen's last visit to Dr. Azam he checked out fine. He weighed 20 pounds and 2.6 ounces (50 percentile). He measured 29.5 inches long (95 percentile). Dr. Azam gave us the go ahead to give Taylen whole milk in between breakfast and lunch, for a sort of morning snack. He is staying busy and keeping us busy! He can crawl, I believe about 95 MPH and loves to hold on to his walking toys or the couch for a cruise. We went outside today, he played in the grass and we blew some bubbles...he likes to be outside. He plays what we call "Where is Taylen" (instead of "peek-a-boo"), he claps when he is happy (like when he wakes up in the morning, looks at the christmas tree), plays pat-a-cake, and the newest addition is putting his hand up in a stop signal when we tell him no or if he hears something he don't like. He still only has 4 teeth...his top gums are very swollen and are white now, I assume he will have more...one day soon. His vocabulary mainly consists of "da da", a "ma ma" comes out sometimes. I think he said "claus" the other day...meaning Santa Claus. I am sure he is excited for his first Christmas! Check out this video of Taylen being funny - Click Here! Permalink

Crawling...for real!

Sunday, October 21, 2007 Taylen crawls for real now. He gets around real good. He can crawl real fast and likes to pull up on the rocking chair. He likes to hide under the tables, too. He ate his first Cheerios today and liked them. He is a good chewer! I ordered him a "big boy" car seat complete with arm rests and a cup holder! I bet he likes it! We've decided for Halloween between a pirate (arg!) or a dinosaur (Uncle Collins' old costume) if it's cold weather. We've been super busy with work lately (12 active projects) so Granma Connie and Uncle Collins have been coming over to keep Taylen company while we get work done. Tomorrow Grandma P and Aunt Tevis will be coming over. Almost 8 months old...seems like just last week I was still pregnant - and Taylen is almost 1 year old. Wow! Where does time go? Permalink

Crawling, more teeth to name a few...

Thursday, October 18, 2007 Lately Taylen has been very busy. He began to "creep" yesterday. He can get around pretty good. He half crawls and half drags his back legs. He has got his fourth tooth (top). Last week he started being able to get in a sitting position from laying down. He notices the camera and loves to smile for it. He has still not decided what he wants to be for halloween! Permalink

Sick Lil' Taylen

Thursday, October 04, 2007 The Kendrick family on Hathcock Road is sick! All of us. We are all congested, sore throat and achy. Poor Taylen, he is sick and teething. He hasn't been sleeping very good, so neither have we. For the second night in a row he has pooped in the bathtub...I don't know what it is, I'm beginning to think it must be something in the water! Grandma P came over on Tuesday for us to go to an appointment. Taylen played with her. He always likes to see new visitors...of course...more attention! The top tooth is making its way. All the way though the skin, his lower teeth are getting bigger. They are all so cute. I don't know what he wants to be for halloween, I've asked him, but he won't answer me. I guess he needs to think about it some more. I measured him yesterday, he came in at a whopping 30 inches. Weighed him today and he was exactly 20 pounds. He has almost trippled his birth weight! Permalink

Tooth number three is in!

Friday, September 28, 2007 Today Grandma Connie and Uncle Collins came over to see Taylen. Grandma Connie was feeling for toothers in Taylen’s mouth and she found the one on the top that we noticed slit in gum on 9/24. Permalink

Playdate

Wednesday, September 26, 2007 Taylen had his first playdate with Khali today. She came over and played on the floor. The wanted each other's pacifiers...and Taylen cooed at her. We also learned that Taylen needs to learn how to share! He kept trying to take the toys out of Khali's little hands. He will learn. Khali sat up by herself for a few minutes and she is getting ready to make a tooth! She is almost six months. Tomorrow Thursday Taylen turns seven months. Taylen's new favorite activity is to climb. He likes to climb up my body and also on our big brown pillows. Permalink

Almost 7 Months!

Monday, September 24, 2007 Taylen is almost 7 months now. He has a slit for the top right tooth...should be coming in soon. He has graduated to a "big kid" bath chair and I make him homemade baby food with my handy dandy "magic bullet" blender. He has a new dvd - Go Diego Go. He likes to sit on the floor and watch it. He can pull himself up and likes to roll around on the floor. He gets around pretty good, but is not crawling yet. Soon! Permalink

Possible top tooth!

Monday, September 24, 2007 Tonight we were playing on the floor in Taylen's room and I tickling him so he was laughing hysterically. He was laughing so much I had time to look into his mouth to see if he had any top teeth in yet. I did not see any top teeth yet but there is now a slit in his gum where one is fixing to come in up top. It looked like it hurt… good thing I cannot remember the pain! Permalink

6 Month Check-up

Thursday, September 06, 2007 Yesterday was Taylen's 6 month check-up. Everything was fine. Dr. Azam was impressed to see Taylen's new tricks (sitting up alone, and two bottom teeth to name a few). He weighed 18 pounds and 1.8 ounces. He was 28.5 inches long. He is in the 95 percentile for length and 50 percentile for weight. He had to get 4 shots...he didn't even cry! He was such a big boy! He got a toy today from the mall before he went to see Dr. Azam. He got a huge, life size Diego! He loves him. He talks to him just like he does us. Permalink

And Another!

Tuesday, August 28, 2007 So the first tooth has broke the skin and is very sharp! He is still shy and don't like to show it off and brag. We practically have to hold him down to see it. On the left side of his bottom gum is a little slit for the other tooth. It should appear within a week. Wow, then he will have two teeth in two weeks! This is a very exciting time for Taylen. He is learning so much. Getting teeth, sitting up like a big boy and getting to eat more big people food. He can drink from his sippy cup all by himself. He is getting so independent. When he is near something he wants he grabs for it, no matter what it is. Sterling was just about to feed him his pears for breakfast yesterday morning, Sterling left the container on the table and while Sterling's back was turned he dumped the pears out onto the table cloth and made a mess. He is very curious of his surroundings now. Permalink

Tooth!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007 Yipee! Taylen is getting his first tooth! I looked this morning (like every morning) and I saw the slit on the right side of his bottom gums. This explains his restlessness in the evenings and why he has been having a hard time falling asleep. We are so proud of him (and his future tooth!) Permalink

Saying "Momma"

Monday, August 20, 2007 Tonight Taylen began saying "ma ma ma" and occassionally "my ma ma ma". I know he didn't know what he was saving and didn't mean it, but I was so excited to hear him call me. He also was lying on his tummy and putting his legs up under his butt, like he was getting in the position to crawl...wow!  He did this a few times. We were so excited. Still no tooth! I look every morning. He is sitting up by himself really well. He can sit up for a few minutes at a time without falling over. Permalink

Pat-a-cake

Monday, August 13, 2007 On Friday Taylen and I went to Grandma P's house for a visit. Grandma P was playing "pat-a-cake" with Taylen and he got very excited. He laughed and it sounded like he kept saying "again" after she would finish. She also has a large mirror that we sat in front of and he tried to reach for himself. He smiled and kissed himself. On Saturday we went to Panama City and Taylen got his first DVD "Save the Wonder Pets!" He watched it as soon as we got home and again on Sunday. Tonight his dad gave him a bath and while Sterling was holding him in his towel Taylen decided to go to the restroom! So, Taylen had to have another bath! Permalink

Sitting up like a big boy!

Monday, August 06, 2007 Taylen can now sit up like a big boy without anyone holding him (click here for picture). Although he can only stay up for about 1 min. it is better than nothing. His mom has been practicing with him for about a week now. Taylen also likes tummy time a lot better than he used to and he can even kind of crawl. I say kind of because he can scoot to where he wants to go but not really on his hands and knees yet although he can stick his butt up in the air (click here for picture). We try to give him tummy time as much as he will allow it. He is also now taking short naps in his crib... and short as in 15 min., but hey that is better than nothing I guess! On Thursday Tana had an appointment with a website client so we had Tana's mom "Grandma P" and Tana's sister, Tevis come over and watch Taylen. Tana missed him a lot while she was gone. I think they held him the whole time because that night Tana had to get Taylen to sleep by lying next to him in our bed because he didn't want to be by himself. Permalink

Stayin' with Grandma in Carrabelle

Wednesday, July 25, 2007 Yesterday Tana and I had to go to a few appointments in Carrabelle and luckily Grandma Connie was home and could watch Taylen for us. We were not gone but a few hours but it seemed like forever! We both missed him very much! Uncle Collins, Uncle Jonathan and Cousin Matt helped to keep Taylen entertained for grandma and him and grandma did Taylen’s favorite thing which is to surf the web! Permalink

4 Month Checkup

Friday, July 06, 2007 Taylen's four month checkup was this week. He weighed 15 pounds and 12 ounces and was 26 3/4 inches long. Dr. Azam said Taylen was progressing perfectly. Our next appointment is at 6 months. He had to get 4 shots :( However, he did great. He only cried after the fourth one. By the time we left the room he was over it! Taylen’s uncle Collins rode with us so that probably helped Taylen to not cry because he did not want to act like a baby in front of his big uncle! Since Taylen was so good we stopped at Toys R Us to get him a toy! He got a jumparoo, stuffed bunny rabbit teether, a mirror and a big boy toothbrush and toothpaste. Taylen is growing up so fast. When he sees something he wants to reaches for it, he is always smiling at us and laughing. He has developed his own personality. We've began to introduce a variety of baby foods into Taylen's diet including applesauce, bananas, green beans and peaches. So far green beans and bananas are the favorites! Permalink

First Time to the Beach

Sunday, July 01, 2007 Today we took Taylen to the State Park on St. George Island so he could play in the sand and water at the beach. Tana was holding Taylen and she was bent down letting the waves splach on Taylen's little feet. He was okay with this for about 2 min. and then decided he didn't want anymore of it! So then we let Taylen put his feet in the beach sand and he enjoyed that! We took photos of our trip over to St. George Island so be sure to check out the photos page. Permalink

Another New Video

Saturday, June 23, 2007 New video of Taylen playing with Grandpa Will taken on June 21, 2007 - click here to view Taylen has been growing so fast! Just last week he began making what we call the "monkey face" where he puts his tounge under his top lip and just today he began making another face where he puckers up his lips. Sterling and I couldn't imagine our life without Taylen in it. Visit Taylen's future classmate, Khali's website at www.khalimcnair.com! Thinking about that...Taylen's high school graduating class will be the class of 2025! Permalink

Laughing Taylen!

Monday, May 28, 2007 Taylen's first laugh was last weekend at Awmall and PawPaws house. I was playing airplane holding him up in the air and he let out his first chuckle. The next time was the following day when his dad was play wrestling with him. I've posted a video of him laughing while his dad was tickling him this morning here. Taylen does not have an appointment with Dr. Azam this month, but we weighed him last night and he was 15 pounds we also measured his length and he was about 25.5 inches. He can now hold objects with his hands and last night he slept by himself all night (10 pm to 7:30 am) in a play yard bassinet beside our bed, we missed having him right beside us :( He seems to like it, but he is too big for it now, 15 pounds is the max...so we need a plan! Family Portraits

Sunday, May 06, 2007 Yesterday, May 5, 2007 we took our first family portraits at Sears in Tallahassee. Taylen was very good. We also went out to eat with Grandma Connie, Grandpa Will and Uncle Collins and Taylen sat in his stroller and watched us and was happy! He sure is growing up! His legs are long enough they poke out of his swing. Permalink

2 Month Checkup

Wednesday, May 02, 2007 Today was Taylen's two month check up. He weighed 12 pounds and 5.6 ounces. He was almost 25 inches tall. Dr. Azam looked at his "white dot" and confirmed it was not a tooth! She gave us the go ahead to give him rice cereal. He also had to get 5 shots. He was very sad. After the doctor's appointment we headed to Target and bought him new pacifiers and a new pair of sunglasses (like his dad's Oakleys) and he got to pick out his own band-aids (Hot Wheels) since he was so brave getting his shots. Taylen is sleeping much better. He wakes up at about 5-6am and goes back to sleep until 9-10am. This past Saturday we went to the Carrabelle Riverfront Festival. Taylen had a good time. We seen many people we knew. Taylen enjoyed being strolled around. Permalink

Growing Up!

Friday, April 20, 2007 Taylen sure is growing up. Last night he slept the longest so far - from 12:30a to 6:00a. We are very proud of him. His hair is getting thicker and his eyebrows are finally starting to show. He has a small white dot on his lower gums, we (mom, dad and Taylen) thinks it is his first tooth but everyone else just thinks it is a white dot. We took our first stroll in town yesterday. We went to Jimmy Harris' office and Taylen cried, we walked to Anchor and seen dad and the whole Anchor crew and then we seen Shelley at the health food store.

Taylen was sick this past week. It was very sad. He had nasal congestion and coughed. I also think his throat was sore. We went to see Dr. Azam and she said indeed he had a cold. At that visit he weighed 11 pounds and 6.6 ounces. Our next well baby check up is May 1. I wonder how tall he will be. Taylen is giving us more smiles than ever in the mornings and evenings. He even smiles for other people (but mainly mom and dad). When he gets real excited he smiles and kicks his feet, it is very cute. He even has a way of laughing, it's actually more of a chuckle or giggle. Taylen most definitly has a "favorite" thing these days, it is a...ceiing fan! He loves to sit on the couch (like a big boy) and stare at the fan. We will have our first dining out experience tonight - I wonder how it will go. Permalink

Taylen's First Easter

Tuesday, April 10, 2007 Yesterday was Taylen's first easter. The easter bunny brought him a hippo basket full of goodies...a book, a pair of shoes, a rabbit, and some night time massage gel. Taylen also received easter gifts from Grandma P + Brian, AwMall + Paw Paw, Granny Brenda + Papa Michael and Grandma Connie + Grandpa Will. Taylen was not able to wear his easter outfit due to the chilly weather. On Friday April 7 we were evacuated from our home because of a fire. We stayed the night in Carrabelle. Taylen slept the longest stretch ever - from 6 am to 11 am. Last night he slept from 12 until 4 am. So it seems he is sleeping for longer periods - yay! He smiles at us daily, mostly in the mornings after he has had his breakfast. Permalink

Heart Murmur Update

Tuesday, April 03, 2007 We went to see Dr. St. Petery on Monday and he also heard the heart murmur so he ordered an echo ultrasound. The ultrasound technician could not find any holes or any other problems with Taylen’s heart. The images of Taylen’s heart were sent to Dr. St. Petery and we spoke with his office today and they said that he just has an innocent murmur but it is nothing to be worried about. Permalink

1 month old!!!!

Thursday, March 29, 2007 Taylen is now one month and 2 days old. He had a check up today with Dr. Azam. Taylen's length is now 23.5" his weight is 10 pounds and 5.6 ounces and his head circumference is 38 cm. Taylen has a small heart murmur Dr. Azam referred us to a cardiologist. Our appointment with the cardiologist is April 3. Dr. Azam was sure everything would be fine but wanted to be sure. Taylen can hold his head up on his own for a short period of time. He now smiles at us and makes coo-ing noises when he is happy. Permalink

3 weeks old!!!

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 Today Taylen is 3 weeks old. Almost 1 whole month! This weekend we went for a visit to Grandma Connie and Grandpa Will's house in Carrabelle. Taylen is staying awake more now and can hold his head upright longer. Taylen still wakes up about every 3 hours during the night to eat. Taylen's next peditrician appointment is next week, March 29. His naval stump finally fell off, so we were able to give him his first bath (pictures are posted). He did not like his first bath. His second bath was with mom and he liked it better, but still was not happy. The third bath with mom was much better. He did not cry and seemed peaceful. We have introduced the mini mam pacifier, it has helped Taylen to calm down and to get to sleep. Taylen seemed to need to satisfy his sucking instinct even after feeding. Since being home we've had many visitors and Taylen has received many wonderful gifts. We wish to thank everyone for their time visiting and gifts. - Thanks! Permalink

2 weeks old!!

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 Today Taylen is 2 weeks old. We have taken him for a stroll in the park twice and he always falls asleep in the car before we can even get there. I posted a few pictures of Taylen on his photos page, so be sure to check them out before you leave. Permalink

1 week and 4 days

Saturday, March 10, 2007 Today Taylen is 1 week and 4 days old. He is much more aware of his enviroment and loves to look around to see what's going on. His sleeping patterns have changed a little, waking up every 3 hours to eat a snack and then falling back to sleep. Sterling and I have adapted very well, I believe. Watching him grow is so exciting! Taylen’s 1 Week Birthday!

Tuesday, March 06, 2007 Today is Taylen’s 1 week birthday, it seems just like yesterday he was still inside of his mom’s tummy. It sure is great having him here. He is getting where he will sleep better at night. When we were in the hospital he didn’t let us get any sleep at night, he would only sleep in the bed with us and in the hospital they would not let you sleep with the baby in the bed so we had to stay up all night while he was sleeping. Now he wakes up every three hours for a snack… He is wonderful to have and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. Permalink

Taylen’s Dr. Appointment

Friday, March 02, 2007 This morning we had to take Taylen to his pediatrician Dr. Azam for a checkup on his jaundice. Dr. Azam said that Taylen looks perfect and since he didn’t look yellowish anymore she didn’t see a need to draw blood. He weighed 8 lbs. 2.2 oz. and she said this was great because when he was born he was 8 lbs. 0.2 oz. and most babies go down in weight and do not reach their birth weight until at least 2 weeks after birth. His next Dr.’s appointment is in 4 weeks. Permalink

Taylen's Birthday

Thursday, March 01, 2007 Well as you can see from Sterling's previous post, Taylen finally decided to join us out in the real world!

Sterling and I went for a walk at the park on Monday evening when we got back home I decided I would tidy up the house. After vacuuming the floors I thought my water broke. We called the hospital they told us to come over and they would confirm. We drove to Bay Medical Center. Arrived in the elevator at 11:40 p.m. est. The nurses confirmed my water broke and admitted me. We were both so excited. It was so late we decided not to call everyone on the "list". The nurse hooked me up to the machine that measures contractions and baby's heart beat. I was not having any contractions. Since my water had broken I had to have Taylen within 24 hours or infection could set in. We decided we would walk the halls a little and then I took a shower. After all the preparation I was hooked back up to the "measuring machine". Out of nowhere I started having contractions- funny part is that I had no idea. My mom was watching the screen and said "Tana did you feel that?”. I couldn't feel the contractions. The nurses left me alone to have contractions for a few hours, after they did not get any stronger that gave me medicine via i.v. that made contractions much stronger. I dilated from 2 cm to 4 cm to 8 cm. After a while with the stronger contractions I was in pain. The nurses gave me pain medicine that really did nothing more than make me very sleepy (which helped). The last 10 or so contractions were the absolute most severe pain I have ever felt. I felt the need to get up and get away from what was causing me pain, but there was no where to go! I survived by Sterling be right by my side holding my hand. He is a wonderful husband and father! Soon enough I was 10 cm. Showtime! I ended up pushing for about 40 minutes, then came Taylen. He was so beautiful (okay, a little gooey, but so beautiful!). The nurses plopped him on my chest and I held him for a few minutes. I was so happy. They took him away for measurements and all the usual. He was 8 pounds and 0.2 ounces. He was 21 whole inches tall. He has dark brown hair and his eyes are grayish (but, I'm sure they will turn brown soon). He has very long feet and toes. He has his dad's eyes and my ears! We were released from the hospital today, March 1. He has a slight case of jaundice, we see his pediatrician tomorrow morning to get an update.

We have posted few pictures, promise to post more soon. Permalink

He is here!!

Tuesday, February 27, 2007 Taylen was born today at 1:42 pm. He is 21" long and weights 8 lbs. 0.2 oz. Permalink

Water Broke...

Tuesday, February 27, 2007 Tana's water broke while she was vacuuming the floor. So we headed over to Bay Medical and arrived at around 11:40 p.m., no contractions yet so we just have to sit and wait for awhile. If the contractions do not start in a few hours they will give her the medicine to make her start contracting. I will update site when I know something. Permalink

Comfy...

Sunday, February 25, 2007 Taylen must be really comfortable inside his mom because he hasn’t decided to come out yet. Hopefully it will be very soon, I figure it will happen when we least expect it. Permalink

Doctor Appointment Update

Wednesday, February 21, 2007 Today we seen Dr. Edgeworth. Taylen weighs 7 pounds and 11 ounces. He has finally "dropped". My cervix has thinned 60-70% -now it is most definitly a waiting game. Permalink

Taylen.com

Tuesday, February 20, 2007
Yesterday we moved Taylen’s website to its own domain. I still cannot get over the fact that Taylen.com was not already taken. Thanks to Tana for looking the domain up! We also updated some of the Asp.Net 2.0 code as well as the stored procedures to be more efficient, most of the changes are on the administration part so you will probably not notice any difference.

Incase you did not know Tana and I own a website design and website hosting business, so if you know of anyone needing a website please be sure to send them our way. You can learn more about our business by clicking over to www.coastalesolutions.com.

Today Tana upload a few pictures, I think this one looks really neat although he looks really crammed inside there, good thing he will be out soon!

We have our scheduled weekly appointment tomorrow with Dr. Edgeworth so we are very excited. Permalink

Doctor Appointment Update

Sunday, February 18, 2007 Last Wednesday we had a Doctor appointment. I was not dialated anymore than the week before. Taylen also has not "dropped" yet. I guess he has decided to take his time. Our next appointment is Wednesday, February 21. Taylen's activity level is very strong. It seems he has developed sleep patterns. He is active in the day time from around 11:30 am  - 3:00 pm and then again at around 10:30 pm. It will be interesting to see if he keeps his schedule after he is born! Permalink

Taylen's Bedroom

Sunday, February 11, 2007 Today we finished Taylen's bedroom (pictures are on the photo gallery). Everything is done, we're just waiting on him! Our appointmet on Wednesday went well. I was dialated 1 cm. Our next appointment is Wednesday, February 14 (Valentine's Day), maybe I'll be dialated some more by then. I've packed Taylen's bag, have our bag almost done and his carseat is in the car...we're really on the countdown now and we are becoming inpatient...just ten more days to go! Permalink

Jan. 31 Appointment Update

Thursday, February 01, 2007 Yesterday was our doctor’s appointment and everything went well. Taylen weighed around 6 pounds 6 ounces so he gained an entire pound over the week (probably from all of the ice cream his mom has been feeding him) and he was also head down. Taylen has been having hiccups a lot lately, which is weird to feel. Our next appointment is February 7th; unfortunately Dr. Edgeworth isn’t going to be in next week  so we are going to have to see someone else for the appointment. Only 20 days to go! Permalink

Weekly Appointments

Sunday, January 28, 2007 Our last appointment with Dr. Edgeworth was fine. Taylen weighed 5 pounds and 6 ounces. We now have weekly appointments since we are so close to the due date. Our next appointment is Wednesday, January 31. We have chosen Bay Medical Center for Taylen's delivery.  24 more days to go!! Permalink

Taylen's Name

Sunday, January 21, 2007 I’ve been trying to find the meaning of Taylen’s name. However, I can’t seem to find his name online or in any baby name books. I found one particular website that gives an in-depth summary of the name’s characteristics. http://www.kabalarians.com.

Taylen’s name summary: Patience is not your forte. You do, however, have leadership ability and would never be happy in a subservient position. You are ambitious and aggressive by nature. You would be happiest in positions where you are free to express individually and creatively and where opportunities are not restricted; you desire freedom, and do not tolerate being possessed by others. You appreciate change and travel, and the opportunity to meet and mix with others, and to influence them with your creative ideas.

Sterling’s name meaning: Genuine and of high quality. The word derives from an old English term meaning “little star”. English origin. Sterling’s name summary: creative ability, imagination along practical lines, and the patience to pay attention to detail for a while. Although you are attracted to technical, mechanical, scientific fields, you lack the patience to follow through with this interest. This name gives a certain amount of practicality to your thinking; but there is also a tendency to scatter your efforts for, although you want system and order and stability in your life, you are too apt to be distracted from the job you are doing and to become involved in spontaneous interests.

Tana’s name meaning: Heroic. American English origin. Tana’s name summary: highly sensitive, idealistic, and intuitive nature. You could be expressive and creative in the arts, music, or drama and you have a great desire to help others. Since you are not inclined to give due consideration to practical and business matters, you could miss out on reaching a level of financial success appropriate for your efforts and abilities. You feel and sense much that you do not fully understand, and you can be deeply influenced through the thoughts of others without realizing just how you are being affected. You are super-sensitive and intuitive. Permalink

Baby Shower & Dr. Appointment

Monday, January 15, 2007 We seen Dr. Edgeworth on Wednesday, January 10 - everything was perfect. Our next appointment is Wednesday, January 24.

We had Taylen's baby shower this past Saturday. It was at the Buccaneer Inn on St. George Island. I really enjoyed preparing for the shower! Taylen received many, many really neat gifts. We had a cake decorated to match this website - it was prepared by Rhonda Tull of Port St. Joe, she done a fantastic job. I appreciate all the help getting everything together and decorating. It all came together nicely. We also appreicate all the gifts- now we just have to get that room organized!

Taylen's still very active, he still seems to do his excercises in the late evenings and when I am ready to go to sleep. I enjoy feeling him moving inside of my tummy, and Sterling loves to feel him kick his hand. We are 34 weeks and 5 days. Only 37 more days to go!!! Permalink

New Due Date...

Saturday, December 30, 2006 We went to see the doctor last Wednesday (Dec. 27) and after doing the ultra-sound the doctor determined that Taylen's estimated due date is now February 21, 2007 instead of February 24 like we previously thought. It is also estimated that Taylen weighs around 4 lbs.

The doctor’s office we go to is going to start performing ultra-sounds every time we come to visit now. Nothing is wrong with Taylen or Tana this is just something new that the doctor’s office will be doing for all of their patients. So next time we go I will take the camera and try to capture some movements to post online for everyone to see. Permalink

Taylen's (sort of) First Christmas

Monday, December 25, 2006 It's (sort of) Taylen's first Christmas. I think he knew Santa was coming, because he has been very active lately! Santa left him and his dad matching Nike hats. We gave him a "geek in training" tee shirt - it just seemed right! His Granny Brenda and Papa Michael gave him a fuzzy blanket with teddy bears on it. Grandma Connie and Grandpa Will gave him a aquarium mobile for his crib. Uncle Collins and Uncle Jonathan picked him out his own camoflauge overalls for going hunting (to match Grandpa Will, Uncle Jonathan and Uncle Collins). Grandma P, Brian and Aunt Tevis gave Taylen 5 clothes outfits, his first eating utensil set, handprint plaster set, first toothbrush (for gums) and many other toys. You can see all of his prizes on the photos page. I think Taylen had a great (sort of) first Christmas - He can't wait until next year!

Our next appointment with Dr. Edgeworth is Wednesday, December 27.

His Grandma Connie and Grandpa Will also bought him many different clothes outfits. Grandma Connie, Grandpa Will, Uncle Collins, Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Erica bought him a large selection of toys. New Gift

Monday, December 18, 2006 Taylen received a new gift: a glider rocker from his Aunt Nancy, Uncle Sam, Abby and Rebecca. We put it together Friday evening. We rocked a little- he seemed to like it. He is most definitly more active, always kicking and moving around.

Today we are 30 weeks and 2 days...only 68 more days to go! Permalink

Big Movements/Doctor Appointment

Thursday, December 14, 2006 Taylen is getting very strong! When he moves now it is like Tana’s entire body moves a little. If I put my hand on her belly, he kicks my hand, as if he were trying to tell me to move it. If I put it on the right side, he kicks there if I move my hand to the left then he kicks on the left side. I think he is a little jealous that I am touching his mom!

Yesterday we went to our doctor’s appointment in Panama City. Everything was fine; Taylen’s fetal heart rate was 140 beats per minute. Since it is getting very close to the due date we are now going to the doctor every two weeks, our next appointment is on December 27.

Today we are 29 weeks and 5 days, only 72 days to go! Permalink

Taylen Kicking Video

Wednesday, November 29, 2006 I was cleaning off some old files from my desktop and ran across this video of Taylen kicking inside of Tana's tummy. This was when he first started being felt so it is a few months back. Maybe we will try to catch him kicking on video again soon since the kicks are much more noticeable. If you look towards the tip of her left hand you can see him kick, you may have to replay the video a few times to notice it. You can download the video by clicking here! Permalink

Doctor Appointment/New Boots

Tuesday, November 28, 2006 Today we went to Panama City to see Dr. Edgeworth. Taylen was doing great, when the nurse tried to listen to his heartbeat he kicked her. I guess the jelly for the fetal heartbeat monitor was too cold for him . We went to the mall and while we were there we seen some Timberland boots that we just couldn’t pass up. We have added a photo of the new boots on the photos page. Our next appointment with Dr. Edgeworth in Panama City is December 13, 2006. Permalink

Bassinet

Monday, November 27, 2006 Tonight we put together Taylen's bassinet. It took us a couple of tries, but we finally got it together! His Grandma Connie brought it for him. It is khaki and ivory and has a mobile with little white bears on it. Very cute. I'm sure he will like it. We cleaned his room on Sunday, now it is really ready for all of his stuff! Permalink

Diaper Bag

Saturday, November 25, 2006 Today we received Taylen's diaper bag in the mail. We ordered it from www.custombabygifts.com. You can view it on the photo gallery. We were impressed with the quality and unique features of the bag. Taylen has been very active lately. His movements are getting stronger. He moves mainly in the late afternoon after dinner. Our next appointment with Dr. Edgeworth is Tuesday, November 28th. Permalink

Update: Taylen in 4d

Saturday, November 18, 2006 Today we had a four dimensional ultrasound session in Jacksonville, Florida at “A Stork’s View”. The sonographer confirmed Taylen is a boy and after measuring his femur bone she concluded he should arrive around February 22, 2007. Taylen measured 12.6 inches tall and weighs 2 ¼ pounds. His fetal heart rate was 143 beats per minute. In the beginning of the ultrasound Taylen was very active, opening his mouth and sucking on his wrist...then he became tired and feel asleep! This was a very special experience for all three of us. We being able to see him in the womb made us feel like we already know him. You can view the pictures by clicking on the photos link above. Many Movements!

Saturday, November 11, 2006 Taylen has been very active lately. His favorite time to kick is evenings at around 10:00pm. His movements are most definitely getting stronger and occurring more often. Our next doctor appointment is Tuesday, November 28, 2006. Today his Aunt Nita and Granny Grace brought by some great gifts. He sure does have a lot already. I'm very excited to get the nursery cleaned and organized. Today we are 25 weeks so there is not much time left! Permalink
